The meeting of the Council of Deans of the Faculty of Medicine of Public Universities in Malaysia (MDC) for the 37th time (No. 3/2023) on May 6, 2023, unanimously established the MDC’s stance on the Parallel Pathway as follows:

  1. This stance is taken in the national interest, aiming to increase the number of trained medical specialists to ensure that the quality of health services in Malaysia is at a high level.
  2. The fundamental principle is that stakeholders who wish to offer medical specialization programs must comply with the applicable laws and standards.
  3. All national medical specialization programs must be strengthened and given priority.
